2019 Season Recap
My fellow Kings,
The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over and so is the fantasy football season. I can finally sit on my couch for 7+ hours and actually enjoy football for the first time this year. We had a great season but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the most emotionally taxing season I've ever had. Gentlemen, my name is Cole and I have a gambling problem.
This year was, without a doubt, the most active we've ever had. Just to give you an idea, here are a few interesting numbers from this past year: We had 8 trades go through between 7 of the 10 owners. There were a total of 281 acquisitions throughout the year (61 of them from our eventual champion, Purple People Eaters). FAAB was a huge hit this year as well, especially being the first year doing it. $768 were spent of a possible $1000 with 4 owners going broke by the end of the year.
I've got a few superlatives to mention before crowning our new King. In order to generate these awards, www.ffrecap.com (league id: 687226) was used. All award calculations are explained on the website. We had a 3 way tie for 'Best Manager' between Trogdor the Burninator, Purple People Eaters, and DeAndre’s 3000. The worst manager of the year officially tied between Lights Kamara Action and the Bad prince (But we all know Quinn tried way harder than Jason did...) I'd also like to point out that Jason had the luckiest season while simultaneously being the worst manager. Way to go, bud. I've attached a few screen grabs for you to go through at your leisure. The championship game however, was between the best manager and the luckiest manager.
Congratulations are in order to Purple People Eater (Scott Burris). Sitting at 4-5 after a tough week 9 loss, PPE won out the rest of the season to secure a 3 seed in the playoff bracket. We all laughed at him (behind his back) when he traded away dynamic ball carrier Zeke Elliot for a relatively unproven quaterback at the time, Lamar Jackson. This move proved worthwhile towards the end of the year when dynamic duo of Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram carried him into the playoffs and took home the championship trophy! Unfortunately, the trophy broke in half during transit so we'll have to figure something out there...but congrats nonetheless.
Anyway, thanks again for all the emotional trauma I've endured this year. It may take me several months to fully recover, just in time for next year to begin. I've already got a few ideas on the docket for improvements (decimal scoring for example), but if you've got ideas, feel free to use this as a dumping ground. Until next time...
YBITS,
Cole
